Ripples

Published on

Inspired by the sand ripples created by the ebb and flow of waves in a shallow beach, this piece attempts to mimic the basic structure. Waves of sand sweep up towards the shore as swash, and fewer grains of sand make the returning backwash. Particles collect naturally on ridges that grow over time and slowly. In the future, I'll add contours to the ridges to make them more natural. Ridges should be able to grow in directions and combine and split.
